Steeped in history and mystery

Local legend tells of an alchemist who used to live across the road from the pub. He was able to turn cheap base metals into 'gold'. He was last seen in The Lilley Arms in 1820. There are three escape tunnels from the pubs cellar that are now blocked off. One of the tunnels leads to the alchemist’s cellar, which he used as an escape route, should someone come to kill him.
